About Us

What is RoseCon??
RoseCon is a convention to bring together the creative community in a safe environment. With so many people in the creative world dealing with mental and physical health issues the plan is to have a somewhere where all are safe to be themselves, away from the toxicity and hate that sadly still plagues our community.

This is a place where miniature gamers, musicians, leather crafters, traditional and digital artists, and so many more can come together to share the passions and skills we all have and show appreciation to these talents while also building a support network for those who need it. With RoseCon's existence we want people to know they are truly never alone with whatever fight they have going on.

We are also looking to eventually become a charitable organisation (Fight Against Adversity Foundation) where we can offer global financial support for therapy, healthcare, equipment and the like, working together to build a safer and more accepting world.

This years theme is "This is me" and is dedicated to a dear friend ZombiKase for being a beacon of strength when it comes to being true to who we are

RoseCon is the brain child of Chris and Kat Rose.

First created in 2025, our aim is to promote mental health support in the creative community by providing a safe space for these people to come together and share our interests.
Our first convention in June ‘25 was small and intimate but gave us an amazing foundation to build on.
For RoseCon ‘26 we have put together an incredible team of talented people from diverse walks of life to help us grow and reach more people

Chris Rose
(He/Him)

Chris Rose is a hobbyist, miniature painter and gamer of 20+ years enjoying several different systems and honing his  skills as a realism painter.

Having dealt with mental health issues most of his life and becoming physically disabled in 2021, Chris's life changed drastically. Being unable to work and losing the ability to do a lot of the activities that he used to enjoy, he leaned heavily into miniature painting passion. Then in 2023 I made the decision to start streaming and creating a safe space for people like himself and that journey lead to meeting Kat and some amazing people, together they have put together the foundations of a convention designed to bring people together in a safe environment where all can share their passions and be a support network for each other.

Kat Rose is the Co-founder of RoseCon.
Kat is a collector of hobbies and shiny things including mini painting, leather work and chainmaille to mention a few. Kat's hobbies provide a source of escapism and relief from her own mental and physical health struggles. They've also brought her into this amazing community where she met Chris and things have just grown from there. It's an incredibly supportive and inclusive community for all creatives.

The Miniatures Apothecaries consist of Matt and Lauren, a husband and wife team of painters and miniature wargamers with over 30 years experience between them. They stream on Twitch and run a busy Discord Server aimed at promoting positive mental health within the wargaming community.

This all began because, when Lauren was at university studying Occupational Therapy her thesis research project studied the effects of Miniature War Games on Mental Health and things just spiralled from there. Both of them have lived experience of ill mental health (depression, anxiety, PTSD) and neurodivergence, as well as both having worked within Mental Health Services in the UK. Whilst working, Matt used his burgeoning social media presence to run a 24 hour stream on facebook painting miniatures to raise money for charity. The stream did really well and Matt, encouraged by the response to this, began streaming on Twitch. When Lauren had to leave work because of developing an autoimmune condition called PoTS she joined in with streaming and The Miniatures Apothecaries were born.

Using their combined passions of mental health and wargaming, both of them wanted to use our platform to help the wargaming community by providing a safe space, access to information and resources, signposting to local services, as well as 1:1 individual support and the support of a continually developing community to help everyone they can.

Kelly has been model painting and building for about 3 years. She was always interested but never had the confidence to try, just stuck with drawing as that is one of her passions. She ended up buying the Blood Bowl starter set and hasn't looked back. She also loves Age of Sigmar sets and threw themselves into the deep end and love every minute even with their ever growing pile of minis
